Connected AI Apps

Common questions about connecting AI apps such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to Agentic, what they can see and change, and how their access ends.

Which AI Apps Can I Connect?

The connect guide has steps for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf. Any other app that can add a remote server and sign in through the browser will work too. See Connecting an AI App.

Who Can Connect an AI App?

Anyone with the Admin or Organisation Admin role in the organisation they choose on the approval screen. Organisations where you hold neither role are marked Needs Admin access and cannot be chosen. See Connected Apps and Roles.

Where Do I Find the Server URL?

At the top of the connect guide, with a copy button. It differs between deployments, so always copy it from the guide. See Opening the Connect Guide.

The steps for each AI app were accurate at the time of writing, and AI apps rename and move their settings often. Check that app's own help for adding a custom or remote connector. See Connecting an AI App.

Does a Connection Cover Only One Environment?

No. A connection is made to an organisation, so the app can see every environment in it, including environments created after you connect. Keep that in mind before giving an app build access. See A Connection Covers Every Environment.

Can a Connected App Read Customer Transcripts?

Yes. Every connection can read full transcripts and tool calls, and transcripts can contain customers' personal information, which the AI app and its provider will be able to read. Check that this fits your organisation's data policy before connecting. See A Connection Covers Every Environment.

What Is the Difference Between Read Only and Read and Write?

Read Only views agents, performance, sessions and transcripts and changes nothing. Read and Write can also create, edit, enable, disable and test agents. The choice is made on the approval screen with the Can build and manage agents toggle. See Read Only and Read and Write.

Can a Connected App Delete Agents or Change Twilio?

No. Whatever its access, no connected app can delete agents, change Twilio, routing, wrap or capacity settings, or see secrets or API keys. See What Connected Apps Can't Do.

Can a Connected App Publish an Agent?

No. When an app with build access updates an agent, the change is saved to the draft, and a person publishes it from the Admin app before callers get it. See What Apps With Build Access Can Do.

What Does "An MCP Client Saved the Draft After You Started" Mean?

A connected AI app changed the agent's draft while you were editing it in Quick Config. Your edits are still on screen but not saved, and you can Compare, Reload Draft or Overwrite. See When the Save Bar Needs Attention.

Should I Approve an Unverified App?

Only if you started the connection yourself and recognise the website shown next to Returns to. An Unverified app has not been confirmed, and its name is whatever the app called itself. See Approving a Connection.

I See "You Need Admin Access" When Approving

You are not an Admin or Organisation Admin in any organisation you could connect. Ask to be given the Admin role, or select Switch Account to use a different account. See Problem Screens.

I See "This Request Has Expired" or "This Request Was Already Used"

The approval link was left open too long, or it has already been approved or cancelled once. Start the connection again from the AI app. If you did not connect an app yourself a moment ago, disconnect it in Account Settings > Security. See Problem Screens.

How Do I Disconnect an App I Connected?

Open Account Settings > Security, find the app in the Connected Apps panel, and select Disconnect. The app loses access in that organisation immediately. See Disconnecting Your Own Apps and Security in the platform docs.

Who Can Revoke Someone Else's Connection?

Only Organisation Admins, from Settings > Connected Apps, which lists every connection in the organisation. Admins can connect apps and disconnect their own, but cannot revoke anyone else's. See Revoking an App.

Does Revoking an App Undo What It Did?

No. Revoking ends the app's access immediately, but agents it created and draft changes it saved stay in place. See Revoking an App.

What Happens to a Connection When Someone's Role Changes?

If the person who connected an app is no longer an Admin or Organisation Admin in that organisation, or has left it, the connection ends automatically within a few minutes. It does not come back if the role is restored, so the person connects the app again. Moving between Admin and Organisation Admin does not end a connection. Taking away someone's Admin or Organisation Admin role is enough to cut off every app they connected in that organisation. See When Access Ends Automatically.

The Use Agentic from Your AI Agent card stays until you connect an app in that organisation or dismiss it. The connect guide also opens from How to Connect in Account Settings > Security, and on Settings > Connected Apps for Organisation Admins. See Where to Start.
